On Monday evening tragedy struck at a prominent St. Andrew recording studio after a man was reportedly shot and killed following an argument between Jamaican superstar, Gyptian and Dancehall producer, DJ Frass.
It's understood that, Gyptian and DJ Frass were in discussion about a song when the exchange developed into a heated argument. Prompting Frass, whose real name is Kimani Palmer to depart the studio. On his return Frass was accompanied by several of his cronies one of whom allegedly proceeded to grab Gyptian in his waist.
The argument reached its breaking point when one of the men appeared to be reaching towards his waistband for something and a toss up ensued. That’s when another man said to be an associate of Gyptian allegedly pulled his license firearm and discharged several rounds. When the melee quelled one man was left dead. The police was summoned to the scene and are currently investigating the matter.
DJ Frass is knowns for projects such as the Clearance and Israel Riddim and recently, the Hot Patty Riddim compilation.
Meanwhile, Billboard charter Gyptian, who scored the internationally acclaimed & award winning single, “Hold Yuh” in 2010 is renowned for classics such as “Beautiful Lady,” “I Can Feel Your Pain” and “Serious Times.”
