D'Angel won the Female Singjay of the Year award during the Music
Industry Award ceremony which was held on Tuesday, September 27th in
Kingston, as she solidifies her place as one of the most interesting female acts in the business today.
"I
feel honoured to have been chosen and thank my fans for their undying
support. I will continue to put out good music that represents women and
the dancehall in a positive way," the singjay, who just announced her divorce from fellow entertainer Beenie Man, said in a release.
In
recent weeks, she has released songs such as Baddest Angel and
her breakout hit, Break Free on the Life riddim for Good Good
Productions. The 'Break Free' single has been dominating FM radio since
its release and the advance buzz on the song has been so incredible that
D'Angel will be shooting a video for her latest hit single, Break Free,
this Sunday, October 2nd at 11 Lindsay Crescent, St. Andrew. The shoot
begins at 7 a.m.
"All the media is invited, it will be a wonderful shoot because I am using the amazing director Mykal Cushnie so you know it will be fabulous," she said in a release.

Word on
the street is that D'Angel has also recorded a new single that is
asking for cooler heads to prevail in the ongoing lyrical battle between
Beenie Man and Bounty Killer. That single is saucily entitled, 'Good
Good'.
