Following the news that controversial Dancehall artiste, Vybz Kartel
has been formally charged with murder, a CVM Television representative has
confirmed that the national network will no longer air episodes of the artiste’s
Teacha’s Pet reality show; effective immediately.
This news follows an announcement made early Tuesday afternoon by
telecommunications network, LIME who insisted that they would no longer
broadcast uncut episodes of the show as a result of Kartel’s charges.
"Due to the serious nature of the charges against Vybz Kartel, LIME has
taken the decision to discontinue its broadcast of Teacha's Pet on
mobile TV with immediate effect,” LIME stated via a press release. The telecommunications outlet had been
showing “Too Hot for TV” clips of the show, but given the nature of the
charges, they could no longer support the program.
Seemingly following suit, the main broadcaster of Teacha’s Pet, CVM
TV will not broadcast any more episodes of the popular reality show. A
representative from the network explained that CVM will stop airing
Teacha’s Pet effective immediately as a result of the self-proclaimed
“Dancehall Hero’s” legal woes.
The second episode of Teacha’s Pet was
supposed to air last Friday night at its regular 10:00pm time slot, local time. However, due to editing issues, the show failed to air and fans were reduced to watching the uncut version via LIME TV and online at the official website.
Vybz Kartel has been charged with murder, illegal possession of a
firearm and conspiracy to murder regarding a July incident in which he
& a group of men allegedly shot and killed a St. Catherine based
promoter along Gregory Park located in the parish. Additionally, it has
been reported that the “Worl’ Boss” could face more charges as he’s been
linked to the murder of a male dancer in Waterford, St. Catherine.
Kartel’s preliminary hearing was due to take place on Tuesday but was postponed until Wednesday, October 5th.
