Vybz Kartel Remanded Again, Lawyer Accuses The Police

Controversial dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel was once again remanded until October 31st on the new case in which he is charged for murder and conspiracy to murder.

Defence attorney Tom Tavares Finson has accused the police of laying the new charge in order to keep his client in custody.

Mr. Tavares Finson accused the authorities of an abuse of the process in order to deny Kartel his liberty.
The attorneys are now on their feet in another court in which Kartel is also charged for murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

Kartel, whose given name is Adidah Palmer, has been in police custody since September 30.
He was first charged in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Barrington Burton.

On Monday evening detectives from the Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch charged the entertainer and Kiro Jones otherwise called "Ray Jones" with the murder of Clive Williams alias ‘Lizard’.
Mr. Williams was killed on August 16 in Havendale, St. Andrew.
