Alliance Deejay Stein Rants About Racism In Dancehall

Alliance affiliate deejay Jermaine Shaw better known as Stein is today crying foul against the local dancehall fraternity.

In a profanity laced youtube video a seemingly upset Stein intimated that he's being dealt a great injustice by the industry by not being given the requisite respect and highlight for his contribution.

Stein cites several challenges as the cause of his current stagnation including racism by some industry players who are of the opinion he does not belong in dancehall due to his 'light-skinned' appearance. Others include, not being hardcore enough; the need to change his image and re-invent himself .

The Cassia Park native says he has no intention of changing to fit into the molds that many have ascribed for him and will continue to persevere despite negative feedback from naysayers.

Stein is a young, vibrant entertainer who grew up in the community of 'Spoilers' Downtown, Kingston. Realising his obession for music at a tender age he began to pursue the treacherous path until at age 15 he was discovered by Arrows Studio, one of the main recording hubs at the time, until taken under the tutelage of Cordell 'Skatta' Burrell and later venturing on his own.
