Elephant Man Gets J$400,000 Bail, Returns To Court In May

Colourful and energetic entertainer, Oneil Bryan, more popularly known as Elephant Man was been granted bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court Wednesday afternoon.

The popular deejay was issued bail in the sum of J$400,000 during a court hearing this morning alongside his attorney, Linda Wright. Reportedly, the deejay was in a good mood despite his legal woes.

Elephant Man stands accused of rape and grievous sexual assault following an alleged incident that took place last week as the deejay’s St. Andrew residence.  The alleged victim, who is of Chinese descent, then filed a report to law enforcement officials. Detectives from the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) took Elephant Man into custody on Monday and later issued the two charges against him, following an interrogation.

Elephant Man’s next scheduled court date has been set for May 21, where he will appear at a preliminary hearing. Additionally, he self-professed “Energy God” has a court date scheduled for February 7, where his trial regarding a charge of abstracting electricity will commence.
