When life sandwiches us between a rock and a hard place and we are hard pressed on every side, it seems only natural to turn our eyes to the sky and ask - ‘Why Me God? Taken from the pages of what has already been labeled a MUST READ throughout the Christian Community; come October, Gospel recording artiste Omari, will officially add author to his résumé, with the release of his literary debut, WHY ME GOD? A faith based novel.
Omari uses his literary debut; WHY ME GOD to dispel the age old myth that Christians don’t face tough times, as the story takes its readers on a journey through the life of a young Christian, Steve Malone, who suddenly finds his life spiraling into a world-wind of turmoil, WHY ME GOD?, according to Pageturner’s Karl Larmond, is somewhat of a social commentary, with real-life twists, turns and drama.
“What Omari was able to achieve with this story is rather remarkable,” states Larmond, “because like all people, Christians too undergo some of the same dilemmas and crises, but for way too long, it seems all we’ve heard are the cries and thoughts from one side of the aisle, and when I say that I mean in our movies, music, novels and other forums, and sure things have and are changing, Omari’s effort being one such amongst the change, bringing to light a point of view on a subject which is very real to all of us, but from an entirely different prospective.”
The anticipation is high, and rightfully so, because with hits to his credit like ‘Help, Why and Jehovah Guide Me,’ one can only expect that Omari’s novel will come with pretty much the same, if not more punch than a three minute recording. A smile appears when asked the obvious, why a book, and how and when did this happen? “It has been happening for a while now, just in bits and pieces, but you could also call it an extension of my creative ability,” declares an obviously excited Omari, continuing with, “because every one of my songs is really a short story, so you could say that this is just an extended version of a song, but at the same time, yet another effort to encourage and minister to those who are in need of ministry.”
