Jamaican Dancehall superstar Sean Paul on Saturday won the 2012 MOBO Award for Best Reggae Act. His win came after edging out stiff competition from the likes of fellow Jamaican entertainers: Popcaan, Konshens, Damian Marley and Mr Vegas.
The 'Get Busy' singer won despite being absence from the annual event held in Liverpool, England on November 3. Now in its 17th year, the annual Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards recognises entertainers who have impacted the music scene in the United Kingdom.
Last year, the MOBO's Best Reggae Act category went to Italian singer Alborosie. However this year five Jamaican clinched all the nominations making sure that despite the outcome the award will return to its roots.
Meanwhile, Bangalore fell in love with Sean Paul over the weekend and why not, when the artiste ensured he sang and performed his best hits to an expectant audience that gobbled up all the love and great music! What was even more impressive is the singer remained true to the artform during his performance.
