Vybz Kartel & Demarco To Do Battle For Top Honours

After setting a blistering pace last year with the release of several hit singles, music videos and controversies Dancehall star Demarco and incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel are again poised to do battle at two of Jamaica's upcoming award shows.

With hits such as 'Bun Up Road' , 'Good Book', Puppy Tail and 'Ride' for Demarco and 'Back Fi A Bend', Without Money, 'Miami Vice' and 'Nuh Play Roun Wid Fyah' for Vybz Kartel the two will face off for top honours this year at the People's Choice STAR Awards and the Music Industry Achievers Awards (MIA) where both are nominated in several categories including 'Male Deejay of The Year' and 'Song Of the Year'.

As to who will take home the coveted awards on the various nights the verdict is still out on that.

Speaking to members of Demarco's camp they intimated that the deejay is not surprised at the nominations adding that, "what the public is now seeing is the result of hard work and countless sleepless nights".

Similar sentiments we uttered by sources close to Vybz Kartel.

"Kartel is always working hard as everybody know he's a man that would record up to ten songs per day when he was free, so this is no surprise when his name pops up for these awards" - The source added.

The 5th staging of the Music Industry Achievers Awards in set to unfold on Friday, April 24th at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston while it's understood the People's Choice STAR Awards will get on the way in May.
