Last year this time Vanessa Bling also known as Gaza Slim was caught up in a world-wind of controversy. This after the “enjoy myself” singer was seriously implicated in the Vybz Kartel saga – a situation that had her literally on her knees begging the lord for mercy….and her prayers appeared to have been answered, for the charges against her for “Perverting the Course of Justice” were dropped in the last quarter of the year.
Upon the dismissal of these charges Vanessa promised to give her full attention to career building and God and is now assuring fans that her future is guaranteed. Those familiar with her story will recall that at the time of Bling’s getting in trouble with the law, she was still in search of a stable career.
Over the weekend the former Portmore Empire deejay now signed to Boom Energy Drink, as their new brand ambassador in a television interview spoke about a cadre of happenings including her new management team and upcoming album.
Despite being pressed several times during the almost 14-minute long interview Bling shrugged off questions regarding the ongoing feud with her and fellow deejay Lisa Hyper. Bling nonchalantly told the interviewer if he needed to get an analysis of that situation she could provide him with a number for Clyde McKenzie.
A noticeable ring of her finger soon became the topic of discussion when she admitted she was engaged to be married and is very happy in her relationship. In the coming weeks the singer is expected to embark on a series of Caribbean assignment before jetting off to Europe.
On Saturday night she was also spotted at the People's Choice STAR Award where he accepted the award for 'Male Deejay Of The Year' on behalf of incarcerated star Vybz Kartel.
