Bounty Killer's Brother Pleads Guilty & Slapped With Fine

Mark Price, the brother of Jamaican dance hall artiste Bounty Killer pled guilty to larceny of a cell phone before the Magistrate’s Court in Basseterre on Monday.

Price was arrested at St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International airport on Saturday, charged with stealing the cell phone of a customer service representative. The 53 year old Price was convicted by confession, and ordered to pay a EC$3000 fine and EC$3000 to the phone’s owner.  It's understood that Price had already paid the fines by Monday afternoon, though it is believed that he is unlikely to leave the Federation until Tuesday.

The incident took place on Saturday morning, just before Bounty Killer and his entourage were about to board a flight from St. Kitts.  Reports are that the customer service representative, who was assisting Price to fill out his immigration form, left her phone on the counter.  When she realized her phone was missing, attempts were made to call it, but the calls reportedly went to voicemail.  A check of surveillance cameras by airport security showed Price picking up the phone from the counter. He was approached by police in the departure lounge, the phone was retrieved and Price was arrested.

876ENT also understands that when the phone was recovered, the battery, SD card and sim card were already removed.  Reports are that the phone was a Blackberry; a top of the line Blackberry retails in St. Kitts and Nevis for under EC$2000. Bounty Killer, whose real name is Rodney Price performed on the St. Kitts Music Festival on Friday night. He and the rest of his entourage left St. Kitts on WINAIR’s morning flight to St. Maarten en route to Jamaica, leaving Mark Price behind.
