Dancehall entertainer Louis 'Dexta Daps' Grandison, who allegedly got into an altercation with the police over a parking violation in April, will make his next court appearance on November 18 when the matter will be heard.
The 7/11 hit-maker, and his co-accused, Essan Richards, were given the new court date and had their bails extended by presiding magistrate Carolyn Tie, when they appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Both men are charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, obstructing the police, using indecent language, and resisting arrest. Richards is also charged with illegal possession of ganja.
It is alleged that on April 27, a member of Grandison's entourage parked his car in a restricted area at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay and was accosted by the police.
An argument ensued between the parties, and the dispute subsequently escalated into a physical confrontation.
In court yesterday, attorney-at-law Martyn Thomas, who represented the two defendants on behalf of their lawyer, Peter Champagnie, told Tie that the matter could be heard in November.
Grandison, who has become one of Jamaica's noteworthy entertainers in recent times, originally hails from Seaview Gardens, which has produced veteran artistes such as Bounty Killer, Shabba Ranks and Elephant Man.
