Lisa Hyper Slapped With Assault Charges

Controversial female deejay Lisa Hyper was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on charges of disorderly conduct and common assault, on Thursday.

It is alleged the 26-year-old dancehall artiste assaulted a woman during an altercation in Stony Hill Square, St Andrew, on June 2. She was, however, slapped with an additional charge due her alleged bad behaviour while at the Stony Hill Police Station.

Lisa Hyper whose given name is Felicia Gooden did not enter a plea when she appeared in court and her matter was set for mention August 10. The artiste's bail was also extended by Magistrate Maxine Ellis.

The other female involved in the incident, 23-year-old Jodian Robinson, was also charged with disorderly conduct. But her matter was not called up in court on Thursday.
According to court reports, Lisa Hyper saw Robinson walking in Stony Hill square with her baby and another woman. The artiste approached Robinson and accused her of pointing her out to another person.

Robinson, reportedly ignored Lisa Hyper, who, it is alleged, followed her and repeated poked her in her head, while threatening to beat her.

After handing her baby to a passerby, Robinson retaliated with an umbrella and the two ended up in a brawl. A woman who attempted to separate the feuding women was also attacked by the artiste. Lisa Hyper received injuries to her head and left side of her face.

The two were taken to the Stony Hill Police Station where it is alleged that the deejay tried to hit Robinson with rocks, but had to be restrained. A spitting war then ensued.

They reportedly continued to behave rowdily, using indecent language and threatening each other inside the station.

A former member of Vybz Kartel's Portmore Empire, Lisa Hyper is known for songs including Bills, Must Get Mine and Nuh Stress Mi Out.
