Dancehall artiste Potential Kidd was yesterday questioned and released by members of the Denham Town CIB.
The entertainer whose given name is Dwayne Taylor, and 33 other men were named as persons of interest by the Western Kingston police for questioning related to an upsurge of violence in the area.
"He turned himself in to the police and was questioned and released," head of the Kingston Western Police Division, Senior Superintendent Cornwall 'Bigga' Ford, told the media.
The artiste has denied police reports that he is involved in the ongoing violence in the west Kingston area.
"I am not influencing any violence in Trench Town, the police themselves say is a misunderstanding. I went to the police station on Wednesday night, and I was questioned and released. I am not involved in any shootings, or any criminal activities.
I am not a criminal, ah music mi say, but ah these things happen when ghetto youths a rise," Potential Kidd said.
A resident of neighbouring Trench Town, Potential Kidd rose to fame in 2011 with the single Yah So Nice. It was followed by songs like Dash it Awey, Try So Hard and Everything Govern.
On June 11, criminals with high-powered weapons shot and injured four people in a series of attacks in West Kingston.
