StepFather Chops Off Child Finger In Family Dispute

The Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) has arrested and charged a stepfather for allegedly chopping off the thumb of a 10-year-old girl last week.

The incident is said to have occurred during a dispute with the child's mother.

It is reported that the mother of the child had originally denied that it was a domestic dispute with her lover that had led to the digit being severed.

The child's father told the Media "My daughter said she was at home and saw the stepfather punch after her mother. She got in the middle and asked him why him thump at her and she say him box her and tell her to move. I was told that the aunt and her mother was standing there and didn't do anything about it. Him chop after the mother and then her big finger get chop off."
It's understood that the stepfather is currently in the custody of the St Andrew Central police.

When contacted, an investigating officer at CISOCA confirmed that the suspect had been arrested and said possible action could be taken against the child's mother.

The Media was told that initially the mother and the child told her father that she used her right hand to cut a jelly coconut and accidentally chopped off her right thumb.

It's further understood that doctors were unsuccessful in putting on back the thumb, as the damage was severe.
