Collaborating with award winning music producer Stephen McGregor throughout the years was indeed a ‘genius’ move by Aidonia, has the Dancehall Superstar is now reaping the rewards of said partnership.
‘Fi Di Jockey’, one of his many hit singles produced by the Big Ship maestro four years ago has seen a resurgence throughout the diaspora amassing over 13 millions views online (via Youtube) after an initial slump at 2 million. The increased numbers can be credited to the entertainers upsurge in popularity along with his ability to physically access markets which were previously inaccessible due to several challenges.
“There was always a demand for Aidonia and his music but due to numerous obstacles throughout the years we weren’t able to properly access certain markets. However, now that the situation has improved what we are seeing is the product of a continued aggressive campaign.” stated a rep from the 4th Genna Music camp.
Back in the island the ‘Banga’ deejay is now prepping for the Best Of The Best showcase which gets on the way Sunday, May 28 at Bayfront Park in Miami, Florida. He is also billed as one the headliners for Reggae Sumfest – Dancehall Night. The Montego Bay based festival is slated for July 16 -22 at Catherine Hall and will mark their 25th anniversary.
