Still riding the wave of success coming into the New Year, 4th Genna recording artiste Aidonia continues to reap the rewards from the colossal work he did in 2017.
After being named 'Deejay of the Year'; also copping the title for 'Song of the Year' with his party anthem 'Yeah Yeah', via various media outlets. The 'Hot Tool' and 'Banga' hit-maker is once again in contention for top honours following the recent announcement of the nominations for the 36th Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) showcase, set to unfold on Sunday, March 18 at the Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago, Illinois.
Aidonia is nominated in two categories for 'Male Deejay of the Year' and 'Song of the Year' for 'Banga'. Though not surprised Aidonia, currently on assignment overseas said he is thankful for the recognition.
"It's a great look to see all the work we have put in over the past year being recognized by the industry, and to them, we extend our gratitude. Of course, I cannot forget my team and the fans without whom none of this would be possible."
Scheduled to return to the island later this week after delivering stellar performances in St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos and Guyana over the festive season, the 4th Genna boss is looking forward to making his debut on the highly publicized Shaggy and Friends annual benefit concert which gets on the way this Saturday, January 6th on the prestigious Lawns of Jamaica House.
"Anything that is going to positively impact our society and help to bring about change, I am always in support of that. So being a part of this endeavour by Shaggy was a no-brainer" - Aidonia explained.
Among the confirmed acts are Sting, Wyclef Jean, Fetty Wap, Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, Christopher Martin, Dexta Daps, Junior Reid, Shenseea, Barrington Levy, Third World, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Capleton, Professor Nuts and Wayne Wonder.
