Etana's Album Debuts At No.11 On Billboard Chart

The highly anticipated sophomore album, Free Expressions from reggae songbird, Etana has done well in its first week sales. Free Expressions landed in the #11 spot on the Billboard’s Reggae album charts. The VP Records release presently sits behind their popular compilation disc, Reggae Gold 2010, which holds on to the #10 spot. Free Expressions is the second highest debut this week, outsold only by the Supervillains’, Postcards From Paradise.

Etana is appreciative of her album’s chart position and feels honored to be only a few slots from Live Forever - Bob Marley and the Wailers which tops the chart. “I appreciate this week’s results and intend to do better going forward. Presently I’m on the road building my fan base and extending my market place. It’s not easy traveling to a different city every day and checking in and out of hotels especially being a newly wed. I know this is my job and I have to put my all to ensure the success I’m looking towards”, says Etana.

The strong one is now focused on moving more units. The album is now available at all FYE stores in the US in addition to online stores such as Amazon, I-Tunes, www.vpreggae.com , www.planetreggae.com and www.etanathestrongone.com With the outlets increasing Etana feels confident that her sales will grow in the coming weeks as she travels across the US conducting autograph sessions, radio and TV interviews as part of her promotional tour.

The Free Expressions tour made its first stop at Tampa’s trendy five level night spot, Club Prana last Friday. The venue was packed to capacity and later shut down by the authorities. The next stop was at the world’s largest Hard Rock CafĂ©, located at the Universal studios in Orlando. Etana performed to a sold-out audience in the vast multi level venue with other reggae acts such as Sanchez, Wayne Wonder and Christopher Martin. This weekend the singer rocks both the East and West Coast; On Saturday she heads to the Long Beach Arena in California and on Sunday she hits BB Kings in Manhattan for another high energy performance.

Etana will make several other stops throughout the USA teaming up with international reggae act, Gyptian, before moving on to the South American leg of her tour. For a complete list see www.facebook.com/oneetana
