Ryno Ignites Antigua and Montserrat On Caribbean Tour

Even with the ongoing relocation and rebuilding exercise being undertaken in the volcano torn Montserrat. This did very little to stop the hundreds of residents who turned out to see one of their favourite Jamaican stars Ryno. He made an inaugural visit as part of his week-long Caribbean tour.

Earlier in the week Ryno stopped in St. Maarten, St. Kitts and Antigua conducting radio and television interviews to promote his cluster of new singles while informing the masses about upcoming endeavours.

However, on Friday, March 4 it was Bitter End Beach Bar, Montserrat that got the first opportunity to see the dancehall star in action as he ignited the entertainment starved nation. Gracing the stage at 1:45am Saturday morning Ryno opened his set with the very popular ‘Wine and Dip’ immediately sparking the hordes of female fans to rush closer to the stage as he unravelled the hits from his growing catalogue.  Other well received numbers included: ‘Bike Back’, ‘Come A Mi Yard’, ‘Wine & Balance’, ‘Dollar Coin’,Say Dem A Friend’ and the newly released ‘Fall In Love’.

Thirty minutes into his set the artiste whose correct name is Romane Anderson deviating into some more hardcore material with tracks likes: ‘Make Di Paper’, ‘Seet Deh’, ‘Mask Up’,  ‘Informer’ among others much to the approval of the males in the audience. This was evident as the fires from lit spray canister kissed the morning sky.

An hour later the deejay asked the now charged crowd, “Montserrat can I go home now because me have a flight to catch to Antigua in the morning“, unfortunately for him this was met with a resounding “No” while being barred by several females as he attempted to depart the stage. After delivering some newer material and a freestyle he was finally allowed to leave the venue at 4:00am but not without several photo opts and a CD autograph session.

Without a moments rest it was back to Antigua on Saturday morning for the third staging of his annual birthday party at the Coast Night Club in St. John’s. That also saw a favourable turn out and was given a similar treatment by the artiste with selections provided by some of the island’s top musical connoisseurs namely: Poison Dart International, Lava International, Dj Irish and DJ Supa Dymond from Vybz 92.9FM.

Following the birthday celebrations Ryno and his team made a cameo at the popular Rush Night Club where he received a warm welcome from the over one thousand party-goers in attendance.

The tour was hectic but me nah complain, is not like Jamaica where them get to see us often so me have to do this every now and then to connect with the fans and let them know we appreciate the love and support.”
Ryno returned to the island on Sunday, March 6 and is expected to shoot two new video ahead of his departure for assignments in Belize and Panama later in the month.
