Mavado Signs To DJ Khaled Record Label

It's now official, DJ Khaled has signed dancehall artiste Mavado to his record imprint We The Best Music Group, after the singer turned down several major labels.

Mavado soared to fame in 2006 with songs 'Weh Dem A Do' and 'Dying,' but he was unable to sign to a record label in the U.S as he was unable to obtain a visa. Now, with that issues solved, Mavado took Khaled up on his offer and announced the big news on radio this morning.

"That's right, New York City! Mavado is officially signed to We The Best Music Group,"
he told Angie Martinez on Hot 97.

Meanwhile, Khaled also confirmed the news saying: "Mavado's part of the family, part of the brand. It's about to be an expansion to the movement... I'm really excited about this because my roots and where I come from, I've known Mavado since before he was Mavado."

He added: "Mavado always puts good music out, and I just want to add more to it, add some steroids to it."
