Raytid’s ‘Blah Daff’ Goes Viral, Sparks New Dance Craze

Currently one of the hottest Dancehall tracks heading into the Easter holidays, ‘Blah Daff’ done by recording artiste Raytid is rapidly becoming a favourite amongst partygoers and disc jocks alike.  Despite not officially released to the public the single has already found its way onto several Serato playlist, CDs and social media networks spawning a plethora of viral videos featuring females demonstrating the new dance craze created by Dancehall Queen Sher as an accompaniment to the song.

Raytid whose given name is Tegana Lloyd Hemmings, a past student of Norman Manley High School and son of veteran entertainer and songwriter Lloyd Hemmings says he’s very pleased, yet surprised at how quickly the song has gained traction.

“I am still surprised at how quickly this song has gained popularity, maybe it’s the infectious beat and easy dance moves associates with it. Even though it’s a Dancehall song it fits nicely into the current Carnival festivities and may be another reason why so many persons have gravitated to it.” – Raytid added.

Raytid however concedes that despite finding that hit factor none of this would have been a reality if it wasn’t for the aggressive promotional campaign currently being undertaken out by his management team. He recently performed at the much publicised Zip FM Soca Fete held at Pearly Beach, St. Ann where he gave a commendable account of himself.

The single a collaborative effort between Social Yaad Records and Jay Crazie Records will be available on iTunes and other digital platforms in the days ahead.

Presently signed to Demarco’s - True Gift Entertainment (TGE) imprint, this burgeoning star hailing from the Kingston 13 community is poised to become an industry sensation in 2015 as he aims to make a name for himself since his emergence in 2013 with the singles ‘Wah Dis’ and ‘Unfair’. However it was the buzz-worthy ‘Forward’ that got him noticed and soon thereafter landed him a deal with the TGE camp.

According to Raytid, “Many say the sky is the limit__ but for me it’s just a mere view. Right now I am fully focused on my career and making hits for the people so for the rest of this year the fans can expect to see and hear and lot from me and the other members of TGE camp."
