Rising Star Winner Tash, Shaken By Robbery Attempt

2011 Digicel Rising Stars winner Tash whose given name is Chantal Latouche, on Monday night almost became the victim of a robbery that was foiled by residents of her community.

Its understood that Tash, hailing from Yallahs, St.Thomas narrowly escaped a robbery attempt after residents observed a group of men at approximately 11:00pm behaving in a suspicious manner at a neighbouring premises to the singer.

The Police was summoned and upon their arrival the men dispersed in different direction.

Tash explains that she is shaken up by the ordeal knowing that unscrupulous individuals would want to rob her, instead of being supportive. The newly crowned singer was on Sunday night presented with a cheque valued at J$1 million dollars after edging out rival Latty J to take home the coveted title.

Meanwhile, the young singer also won for herself a scholarship to the Edna Manley School of the Visual Arts.
