"Choose Your Words Carefully" - Demarco Warns Popcaan As Feud Intensifies

A few weeks earlier we reported that a possible feud was brewing between Gaza prefect Popcaan and Demarco and it appears that the rift has intensified following confirmation from Demarco to the media.

In an interview a seemingly nonchalant Demarco explained that the song was a freestyle meant to be a part of his upcoming mixtape titled 'Nuh Dirt', and never was intended to be the catalyst for a feud. However, if persons took it as a dis, he is lyrically ready to defend himself.

"It was a freestyle I did for ZJ Chrome and my mixtape, the world like it suh dem seh is a diss to Popcaan, so I guess it is," he laughed.
"People a sey a Popcaan mi a diss, well a Popcaan mi diss, whol' heap a dem tief mi style including him,"

The video/song entitled 'Kingston City' sees Demarco freestyling on Rick Ross's 'Stay Scheming' instrumental with the lines:
"25 million views that means me more popular
tell dem say talk is cheap so we nuh hardly speak
when we a walk the street, dem a say Marco dweet
nuh mek mi mek forensic white chalk di street
yaaaaooooww dem thief mi style and nuh ask mi fi it"

Emerging dancehall star Popcaan has also released a song titled Fry Yiy which is rumoured as a counteraction to Demarco's song. In his track, Popcaan deejays:
"The whol place a sey Fry Yiy, some bwoy fi write some hit song and stop cry."

However, Demarco was quick to highlight his claim that Popcaan is not as popular as him and should be careful with his choice of words.

A boastful Demarco further stated, "Him a sey artiste fi write some hit song and stop cry, but him nuh mek no song big like I Love My Life, I got 25 million views on YouTube and I have been all over the world ,"
