Dancehall deejay Ojukwu Simpson, better known as Ninja Kid has released a brand new single that seems to be ruffling some feathers in the music industry.
The song titled 'Dem', a collaborative effort with producer Markus Myrie speaks to the practice of 'pretentious friendships' which has become common place in the music fraternity. Listening to the thought provoking ballad, one would garner the opinion that Kid may be speaking from personal experience. However, he quickly indicated that such was not the case, nor is the song directed at anyone specifically.
According to Kid, "The song is not aimed at anyone despite what people may think, I was just at the studio when Marcus played the track and that's what came to me, so we laid down the vocals and the rest is history. Right now I don't have any time for negativity our music don't need anymore of that."
With the single enjoying favourable rotation on the airwaves, plans are already in motion for an official video in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Ninja Kid is booked to appear at the Rumfire Ochi Explosion at Margaritaville, Ocho Rios on May 26th alongside fellow entertainers Blak Ryno, Konshens, Navino and Popcaan among others.
