Officers from the Narcotics Division on Tuesday reported the seizure of approximately 700 pounds of ganja during routine checks at the Kingston Wharves.
The police reported that about 4:30 pm, law enforcement personnel were conducting security checks when they observed a broken seal on a container.
The police were summoned and on their arrival, nine duffel bags containing approximately 711 pounds of ganja were seized.
A release from the Jamaica Customs Agency Tuesday said the duffel bags contained 188 packages, with an estimated street value of J$3.5 million.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
Investigations continue.
