President of the Calabar Old Boy’s Association John Messam says Basil 'Bagga' Brown was an icon for Calabar as he was always supportive of the institutions’ programmes and activities.
The popular radio disc jockey, entertainer died around 6:00 a.m. this morning. 'Bagga' Brown was at the University Hospital of the West Indies where he had been hospitalised for several months battling bone cancer.
Brown’s career spanned the insurance and entertainment industries. He also work as an insurance salesman, and was co-founder of the now defunct Rockers Award.
