"Kiprich Is The New Ninja Man of STING" - Says Isaiah Laing

Head of Supreme Promotions, Isaiah Laing has vowed that the prominent dancehall super show, STING will return to its clashing roots this year.

Almost 30 years in existence, STING has gained mass popularity and notoriety; providing the stage for dancehall artistes to settle any and all lyrical confrontations. However, last years’ edition was considered a general disappointment in terms of turnout and theme, given that there were no clashes. Furthermore, the absence of internationally acclaimed superstars, Vybz Kartel and Mavado added to the diminished turn-out.

However, Laing promises that STING 2011 will see a return to the nature of lyrical warfare that’s usually associated with the event, hence this year’s theme, “Rumours of War.” the Supreme Promotions boss intimated that "Sting has always had a clash to make it Sting. Our best years at Sting we had clashes. The streets are asking for it. Last year, we tried the church thing and it did not work so we are going back to the real Sting, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.”

To promote the “Rumours of War” theme, STING promoters are planning to release a Riddim with the same name; featuring artistes such as Kiprich whose single “Run Up” take lyrical shots at veteran Dancehall entertainer, Merciless. More artistes are expected to record singles on the Gaddafi produced Riddim in an effort to build hype and buzz leading up to the big night.

"Kiprich is like the new Ninja Man of Sting, so people can expect him to go up against anybody,"  - Laing boldly stated.

Laing failed to mention which artistes would clash at STING but promised that there would be a clash each hour between midnight and 6:00am local time. Additionally, he believes more artistes will take the opportunity to perform at STING given the absence of live shows locally.
