Police Says More Arrest Coming In Vybz Kartel Murder Case

According to an article published by the Jamaica Gleaner, Police investigators on Monday revealed that they expect to make more arrests in one of the two murder cases brought against popular dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel as the probe against him widens.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell, who heads the Criminal Investigations Branch, said the new arrests could come "between now and Thursday" in the Clive Williams murder case.

"There are strong possibilities that other persons will be charged between now and Thursday. Then all the persons will go to court on Thursday," Powell stated. One of the other persons on the police radar is another popular entertainer.

The case was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday where 'Kartel', whose given name is Adidja Palmer, and a member of his entourage, fashion designer Calvin Haye, were ordered remanded until Thursday. Haye was ordered to give his fingerprints to the police.

Police investigators say Williams, who is also known as 'Lizard', was killed in Havendale, St Andrew, on August 16, but his body has not been found.

"We have graphic descriptions of how Mr Williams was killed," one CIB personnel added last week.

Another member of Palmer's entourage, Kiro James, more popularly known as 'Ray Jones', has also been charged in connection with the murder.

Palmer, who has been in custody since October 1st, has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and illegal possession of firearm arising from the death of Barrington Burton, a St Catherine businessman/promoter. Burton was shot and killed while standing with friends in Gregory Park, St Catherine, in July.
