Fantan Mojah To Shoot Video For 'Call My Name'

After making a dramatic return to Downsound Records last year, cultural firebrand Fantan Mojah has been repositioning himself to become a true force in the world of reggae music.

Then, as fate would have it, he got the huge opportunity to close the highly successful Pepsi Rebel Salute in January. And a legend was reborn after Fantan grabbed his destiny with two hands by delivering an emphatic performance, eliciting huge forwards during his set, and electrifying the European media contingent that had travelled to Jamaica to see the show. Mojah’s stocks are once again on the rise.

“The fire tun up,” Fantan Mojah said in a release. “I closed the show alongside Chuck Fenda and we rocked the venue, some doubters thought the people were going to leave, but mi ah one  son of St. Bes (Elizabeth) and I graduate from the school of Miller, Marley and Dennis Brown, so I know is reggae music run round here.”
Fantan earned huge ovations for songs such as ‘Stronger’, ‘Most High Jah’, ‘Kill Great Man’ and ‘Give Thanks and Praises’. “Mi get the four corner forward, everywhere yu see flags and lighter
and firecrackers,”
he said.

In the meantime, Fantan Mojah has been recording songs for a number of different producers.

"Wi a do some songs on some dancehall rhythms, but mi keep it positive same way. Mi a sing for the girls, dem a request it," he said. Some of his new singles include Call My Name on the 'This Is It' rhythm, a combination with Sizzla and Tyrical called Bedspring, and Falla Backa the Girls Dem on the Chiney K label.

He will be shooting a video for "Call My Name" later this week. The single, which appears on the This Is It riddim alongside heavyweight deejays such as Bounty Killer and Harry Toddler, is bubbling on various local charts.
