Vybz Kartel Gets $3Million Bail But Remains In Custody

World-renowned Dancehall superstar, Adidja Palmer, more popularly known as Vybz Kartel, has been granted bail regarding to one of his murder charges.

It's understood that, the embattled entertainer was offered bail in the sum of JA$3 million by Supreme Court judge, Justice Bertram Morrison, in relation to the murder of St. Catherine businessman, Barrington “Bossie” Burton in July. This resulted from a successful bail application made in chambers by his defense lawyers, Tom Tavares-Finson and Chris Tavares-Finson.

As a condition of his bail, Kartel must report daily to the Constant Spring Police Station, where his cases were originally brought forward.

Despite this good news, the Portmore Empire deejay won’t have the chance to post bail and leave prison as he’s facing another murder charge in the killing of Clive “Lizard” Williams, a dancer from Waterford, St. Catherine. The alleged murder took place this past August, in Havendale, St. Andrew, according to police reports.

Kartel, along with his road manager/designer, Calvin “Moonie” Haye, Empire protégé, Shawn “Shawn Storm” Campbell and Cayro Jones were all jointly charged in Williams’s murder. They are expected to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court tomorrow where bail applications will likely be made pertaining to the matter.
