Government Gives Nod To Live Music Tour (Skeleton Fresh)

When you take a Billboard recording artiste and producer,  a marketing connoisseur and record label executive, and combine both with an eclectic mix of musical stars, an amazing live band and visual effects, supported by local Government and several Corporate interests, you get a brilliant aggregation of talent introduced under the banner of the 'Skeleton Fresh Tour'.

Conceptualized by international dancehall star IAMSTYLEZMUSIC (aka Stylez)  and coordinated by Shelly-Ann Curran of John John Music Group. The 'Skeleton Fresh Tour' is an all-island expedition aimed at rejuvenating the authentic live music scene across the expanse of Jamaica while methodically grooming talent for the international marketplace. The main focus of the tour is to provide an ideal solution for the depleting musical offerings locally and to promote Jamaica as a preferred destination. This little 'Rock' is the birthplace of many musical luminaries and measures must be taken to keep their legacies alive. Investing in this tour means supporting future cultural ambassadors who will assist in the restoration and perpetuation of the Jamaican brand. Music contributes tremendously to the local economy and continues to garner appeal worldwide. The tour will also be simultaneously used as a platform to celebrate the island's diverse cuisine.

According to Shelly-Ann Curran, "Being a part of the Skeleton Fresh All-Island Tour means a great deal to me. I fell in love with the idea of having a local tour the moment it was introduced. I strongly believe this is a step in the right direction to revive the culture of live music in Jamaica. The tour seeks to provide a platform to produce and promote wholesome, authentic Jamaica music and I am all for that."

Endorsed by the Jamaican Government through the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the 'Skeleton Fresh Tour'  commenced on Sunday, September 30 at 100 Montego Bay with a live showcase featuring female songbirds Tosh Alexander, Kim Nain and Kalia alongside their male counterparts Delando Colley, Tamo J, Jahshii and Stylez among others. Musical backing comes courtesy of Stylez's own 6ix Disciplez Band with the U.S-based HD Boys handling visual presentations.  The tour will also feature several noteworthy guest performers at each stop along the 10-week, 10-parish outing.

Stylez, who continues to make significant in-rows on the international front topping Reggae charts and breaking new ground for the genre, envisions the tour not only to showcase emerging stars but also as a platform to cement his newly revamped brand. Underscoring that with the right opportunities our local talents can rival anyone on the international landscape but we have to start cultivating that mindset from home (Jamaica).

"I won’t deny that I was also inspired by the lack of live shows across the island and constant complaints from both artistes and fans alike about not having enough shows to participate in. Instead of talking about it I decided to do it with the hopes that others will see the success and relevance of having live shows and an actual band touring with them worldwide. It’s a homegrown product I have created and the next step is to package and export to the world."  -He explained.
