Girls Gets Weak for Shokryme and CJ The Chemist

After attaining some international success in 2017 with 'Gold', recorded by Shokryme and featured on the Barcardi Rum and Major Lazer presents Music Liberates campaign, New York-based producer CJ The Chemist has once again joined forces with the 4th Genna deejay for a new collaboration. However, this time around CJ is not only the producer but can now add recording artiste to his growing repertoire.

The single titled 'Gyal Weak' is CJ's first official entry into the space as an artiste and features Shokryme who continues to separate himself from the glut of dancehall with his unique style and witty lyricism. Narrating a tale of how their mere presence makes females salacious. CJ The Chemist is very upbeat about the project.

“This is my first song as an artiste, even though I've helped a lot with the lyrics in other recording sessions. However, it's a different vibe being in the booth versus being behind the controls. So far the feedback is very positive and encouraging."

In 2018 another of CJ's production 'Robot Wine' performed by Dancehall artiste Spice was featured in the American television series 'Love and Hip Hop Atlanta'.

Meanwhile, Shokryme who released 'Bandana', a three-track EP two years ago that was featured on Drake's OVO Sound Radio Episode 43 and Britain's BBC 1Xtra, is hopeful 'Gyal Weak' will attain a similar or greater level of success.

"The song has a nice vibe and I am happy with the response. We just shot and released the visuals so right now the focus is promotion and getting the song in heavy rotation on all the various platforms." - Shokryme added.

The song is released on the Chemist Records imprint and the official video is available on Shokryme's official Vevo account (ShokrymeVEVO).
