KipRich scored another major achievement this week when his 'Talk' single jumped from the #8 spot to number one on the Fiwi Choice Top Ten charts, giving the controversial deejay his first number one song for the year.
"I feel really great about this achievement because Talk is a really special song, wherever I perform it all over Jamaica, it has at least three guaranteed forwards, everybody have dem favourite part, so this is a song that really connects with the masses," Kip Rich said in a release.
The 'Talk' single is also in the top five of the ER dancehall top ten charts,
The streets are already buzzing around Kip Rich's latest single, The Real Saga on the 'Overproof' rhythm since it makes overt references to Beenie Man's recent divorce, and other au courant issues such as Christopher 'Dudus' Coke's recent guilty plea in the US courts and the beating of selectors.
"It a talk bout Beenie and him wife, Prezzi's guilty plea, selectors being beaten. It's really current and controversial. It just a talk bout some things weh a happen, nutten personal," he said.
The Overproof riddim is on the JA Productions imprint, and also features artistes such as Mavado, Sizzla, Khago, Aidonia, Daniel Bedingfield and several other artistes.
Kip Rich has also tackled social issues with his new single, Cry (JPS) which is inspired by the public backlash against the utilities provider in the wake of unusually high billing charges by the Jamaica Public Service Limited.
"A lot of people crying about this situation where dem getting some ridiculous bills. It kinda unfair; people seh dem even lock off dem things and dem still get the same amount because ah estimated bills. Me personally get some big bills too so this is a issue close to my heart but ah really the people dem a cry and me hear dem cry," he said.
The deejay will be releasing a music video for the song during the course of this week. The video will be directed by Terminal 4 Media.
