Reggae Star Jah Cure Rocks 18,000 In Barbados

Very few Jamaican artistes have the ability to bring out record crowds outside of the island and moreso, be able to maintain this form year after year. However, Jah Cure has upped the ante in that respect, selling out a remarkable nine straight shows in the last three years. 

The latest event where Jah Cure has demonstrated his awesome box office pulling power occurred during the Digicel Reggae on the Hill 2012 concert in April in Barbados where he gave a spirited performance, earning three encores from a crowd of 18,000.

When he hit the stage, cheers and applause washed over The Cure from the excited audience and he did not disappoint. Jah Cure dished out an hour and a half of conscious tunes that included True Reflections, What Will it Take, To Your Arms of Love and Longing For, bringing many female fans to tears with his timeless hits. Members of the audience sang Longing For word for word. Some of the ladies screamed 'Jah Cure I Love you!' with outstretched arms while the crowd rocked to his every word

“I am overwhelmed and overjoyed at the love and appreciation I have been getting since my performance at Reggae on The Hill. It shows me that a solid and heartfelt performance is what is demanded from my fans always. Barbados is very special to me and dear to my heart and with my second appearance on this show in particular, I really was determined and willing to go the extra mile,” Jah Cure said in a release.

“The energy was superb from the crowd, they make me feel like I made no error in choosing music as my career. Much respect to the massive in Barbados and to my fans worldwide, I love you all and will see you soon.”

In the upcoming weeks, Jah Cure has a tour throughout Europe and then two dates in Martinique.

“I am looking forward to going to Martinique in particular because it is one of the many places I've been wanting to go to for a few years now,” he said.

In the meantime, Jah Cure is working hard to promote his latest video, Kiss Me Girl.

“The video has been getting rave reviews in the last few weeks. It’s actually at #2 on the Tempo Hot countdown. I'm grateful and never take any of this for granted. Thanks to all my fans who's been voting for my video 'Kiss Me Girl',” he said.

Jah Cure will be releasing a new single, 'That Girl' soon. “The song is produced by yours truly (laughs) my first production and hope all are amazed as I am of myself,” he said.
