Shaggy To Launch New Record Label In Kingston

Grammy-winning musician, Shaggy will be launching his newly founded Ranch Entertainment record label in his native Kingston on Feb. 26.

The accomplished entertainer originally launched the Reggae-fusion entity in 2011 and held a function commemorating this venture inside the Santos Party House in New York City last June. Now, Shaggy is set to host a Jamaican launch at Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records restaurant on Tuesday at their weekly, Behind The Screen event.

Shaggy has been hard at work building the Ranch Entertainment brand ever since splitting from long-time manager, Robert Livingston and his Big Yard label following an 18-year stint. Many of his colleagues at Big Yard are working with the singer at his new outlet as they try to introduce new and veteran artiste to the mainstream market overseas.

Two videos will premiere at Tuesday's event: Couple Up featuring Dancehall megastar, Konshens and Love Jam featuring Shaggy's proteges, Redd Foxx and GC. Other elements of the Ranch bran will be presented at the launch.

Meanwhile, Shaggy, who recently announced a schedule shift for his annual Shaggy and Friends charity concert, is putting the finishing touches on a new album produced by recently the Grammy-nominated duo, Sly and Robbie.

A title has yet to be determined. However, the compilation will feature collaborations with Reggae stalwarts, Beres Hammond and Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley as well as in-demand newcomer, Chronixx and multiple award-winning R&B singer/songwriter, Ne-Yo.
