Damian Marley Ignite Thousands In Grand Cayman

Grammy Award winning and Reggae stalwart Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley performed an energetic set to thousands at the Caymana Bay Waterfront Festival Green in Grand Cayman on Friday, March 1.

The concert was produced by Youngblood Productions Cayman and boasted a venue filled to capacity. The Set Up Shop singer performed several hits from his latest album as well as tribute songs to his late father, the Legendary Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley, OM.

Damian, Stephen and Julian Marley, owners of the Ghetto Youths International Label released the Set Up Shop Vol 1 Compilation on Tuesday, February 26 on iTunes.

Meanwhile, Marley, who won best reggae album and best urban/alternative performance for Welcome to Jamrock at the 2009 Grammy Awards, speaking to the media about the recent Grammy tribute to his dad said that he didn’t get to attend all the rehearsals for the tribute, but that he felt that the ones he did attend prepared him for the big performance.

“Overall, it’s not often that reggae entertainers are invited to events like this, so I’m just thankful that Bruno and the crew invited us to be there,” he said.
