Dancehall Artiste M-GEE Robbed Over Easter Weekend

Hailing from the Maxfield Avenue community Dancehall artiste M-Gee has become the latest entertainer to fall victim to the parasitic crime epidemic currently plaguing the island. The artiste fell to misfortunes on Sunday, April 20th while in attendance at a popular beach party in Portmore, St. Catherine over the Easter weekend.

According to the deejay he went to the event do some promotion on his street bubbler ‘Eva Clean’. He had parked his car outside the venue and upon his return a few hours later discovered the vehicle would not disarm amid attempts to use the alarm remote. Upon closer inspection it was revealed one of the doors had been breached and several items stolen. Among the valuables taken were cash in excess of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000+) along with documents and several pieces of personal effects. A failed attempt was also made by the perpetrator(s) to remove the car battery but was derailed by the vices that held it in place.

A seemingly exasperated M-Gee says what transpired was unfortunate and cannot comprehend why someone would put themselves in harm’s way to deprive another of his hard earnings; before advising that the matter had been reported to the relevant authorities.

“I can’t understand why a man would leave his house to come to a party to rob a next man of his things that he works so hard for. We have the same twenty four hours, two hands and feet so why they can’t go and work for their own too. Them must remember God nah sleep, their time soon come.” – The deejay warned.

Despite not fully a household name, M-Gee currently buzzing with his single ‘Eva Clean’ is no stranger to the Jamaican music landscape, he emerged on the scene three years ago and has been steadily making a mark for himself with singles such as ‘Prefer Cheap’, ‘Back Pocket Hail’, Hypocrite,Di Gyal Dem’ and ‘Di Wine’ while performing at some of the biggest events on the social calendar. A few of these includes: Sting 2012; Follow Di Arrow 2013 and the 2013 Penn Relays After Party with Lady Saw in Philadelphia, U.S.A.
