Demarco 'Bun Up' Easter & Heads To U.S Virgin Islands

Dancehall star Demarco was in sizzling form over the weekend delivering a triad of performances in the U.S and Jamaica for the festive season. Currently riding high with the singles ‘Good Book’, ‘Loyal’, ‘Ride’ and ‘Lazy Body’ the popular entertainer invaded the southern coast of the U.S as headliner for a pair of concerts over the Easter weekend.

The showcase dubbed ‘I Love My Life Easter Weekend Tour’ unfolded on Friday, April 18th and Saturday April 19th at Lavish Lounge and Club Pisces in Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia respectively. The billing also featured the Far East ruler Mighty Crown and Slaughter G from Half Crazy out of Boston.

Known for his lyrical prowess and expansive catalogue, expectations were high as fans remained spirited in anticipation of Demarco’s arrival despite the frigid weather conditions. Arriving at Lavish Lounge in the wee hours of Friday the singer wasted no time engaging his audience reeling off a surfeit of hits much to the enjoyment of the large gathering, a similar performance was delivered at Club Pisces in Atlanta on Saturday night. Aside from the classics new tracks such as ‘Good Book’ and ‘Loyal’ were well received.

Following his double stint in the U.S; Demarco returned to the island Sunday evening in time for the much publicized St. Ann Kite Festival, the annual showcase held on Easter Monday at Shazz Entertainment Grounds Richmond, Priory also saw a sizeable outpouring of patrons. Singing some of his popular songs interspersed with new material the ‘Fren Circle’ singer received another warm reception from his Jamaican audience. This follows his recent performances at Magnum Wednesdays Anniversary and ZJ Dymond Birthday celebrations at Margaritaville, Ocho Rios.

Speaking with the media Demarco says the new thrust is geared towards increasing his local visibility as due to his hectic tour schedule he’s not afforded enough time in Jamaica.

“I am trying to spend a bit more time in Jamaica with the fans, hence I’ve been doing more local shows and releasing new songs and videos. As you are aware it’s very important to stay connected on the Dancehall scene and being on tour at times makes that very challenging.”  - He added.

Later this week Demarco will depart the island for a stint in the U.S. Virgin Islands ahead of next week’s appearance at Jamaica Mek Wi Laugh comedy showcase slated for April 29th at the Countryside Club hosted by noted broadcaster and media mogul Lady Rennae.
