A 24-year-old entertainer was shot and injured during an alleged dispute with a member of the security force in May Pen, Clarendon this morning.
His identity has not yet been release.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit confirmed that the incident occurred shortly after 10 o’clock, but said details surrounding the incident are unclear.
It's understood, however, that the two were involved in an argument when it was alleged that the man approached the officer with an object. It is said that the officer then opened fire hitting him.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
The Independent Commission of Investigations is investigating.
