Nesbeth Lends Support To Spanish Town Adult Correctional Facility

Reggae firebrand Nesbeth recently named one of the genres’ ambassadors keeping Roots Reggae music alive by international media outlet MTV IGGY has teamed up with the Spanish Town Adult Correctional facility lending his support to their rehabilitation program.

Known for the hits ‘Board House’, ‘So Let It Be’ and ‘Gun Out This Morning’ the conscious crooner said he was very happy to oblige when the invitation was extended to him by the prison authorities.

Aside from the obvious entertainment value the programme also aims to assist in the re-integration of  convicted persons into society through mentoring with its main objective, to counter habitual offending, also known as criminal recidivism.

Following a well received performance interspersed with motivational speeches, Nesbeth said the experience was very moving and served as an eye-opener for those in society who share the view that the penal institution is a place of solace. Admittedly he affirmed he was fairly pleased to see that many of the inmates were still in high spirits despite their insurmountable challenges.

After exiting the main facility the singer in a concise interview stated, “We a Ole’ Gangalee so we never sell out so we tell each and every inmate we all can taste victory and a deh suh the ting deh... naturality and positivity.” [WATCH SNIPPET

Currently promoting the singles ‘Taste Victory’, ‘Ole Gangalee’ and ‘Hundu Lay Lay’ from his new EP, Nesbeth continues to make final preparations for his upcoming European tour later this month.
