Bounty Killer Freed Of Assault Charges

Dancehall artiste Rodney "Bounty Killer" Pryce has been freed from another assault charge. In the latest incident, Bounty Killer was accused last September of using a hammer to beat a woman with whom he had a relationship.

However the matter was dismissed on Monday morning after his attorney Christopher Townsend made a no order submission.

Mr. Townsend said  after the hearing that he made the submission after the complainant and her attorney failed to attend court hearings.

“Well I made an application on the last occasion that the claimant had not been here on several trial dates and in fact even her attorney has been absent in the matter which demonstrates that they have no intention of prosecuting the matter,”

“The judge made an order that this was the last trial date that she set in the matter and this being the last trial date I reminded her of that fact, the prosecution could not go any further in the matter,” Mr. Townsend said.

The entertainer was slapped with assault charges last September after the woman claimed he had beaten her with a hammer at his Oaklands Apartment in St. Andrew.
