Christopher 'Dudus' Coke Sentenced to 23 Years

Former West Kingston strong man  Christopher “Dudus” Coke was sentence to 23 years in a Federal prison.

The sentence was handed down by Judge Robert Patterson in the Southern District Court in Lower Manhattan Friday morning (June 8th).

Coke was captured during a bloody siege in Jamaica in 2010 that left 70 persons dead. He subsequently waived his rights to an extradition hearing and was sent to the United States to face gun and drug trafficking charges.

Dudus later pleaded guilty to racketeering and conspiracy, before begging the judge for mercy. But despite his plea, he received the maximum sentence.

“The prosecution made a concerted effort that he gets the maximum sentence based on the witnesses that they called to give evidence about his bad character and involvement in criminal activities,” 

Queen’s Counsel Churchill Neita yesterday said. “Having accepted the lesser charges, they are still going for the maximum sentence.”
