Tun Up Fridays Attract Hundreds


Three weeks after re-launching the Tun Up Fridays brand the weekly event has began to attract a large following.

Staged at the Next Level Sports Bar atop RT Plaza in Bayside, Portmore, last Friday saw a massive turn-out as hundreds filed into the venue adorned with the Jamaican national colours for the independence edition.  In the wee hours of Saturday morning the venue was almost at capacity. While patrons entered, songs of patriotism could be heard thumping through the speakers courtesy of  Sunjocks Mario, JJ Wizzle and Darkcide International’s SJ Calico who kept the vibes going throughout the night.

“We are very happy with the progress of the event, every week the crowd keeps getting bigger and that is a clear indicator that we are doing something right.” – says promoter/ spokesperson Shadow.

“We want to make Tun Up Fridays the weekly flagship event of Portmore, so aside from our aggressive promotional campaign now in progress, we will be unveiling some additional surprises in the coming weeks.” – he added.

Already two of the benefits enjoys by patrons include free admission for women and half price for college students with proper identification.

Since the re-launch several entities have thrown their support behind the event including Portmore’s own Suncity 104.9FM, Swag Television and HYPE-TV. Celebrity sightings include: D’Angel, Bascom X, former Gaza member Deva Bratt, Nuclear,  Braeton-based recording artiste G-Loc and Ratigan and Zip 103FM personalities. 

Hosted by Darkcide International in collaboration with Real Madd Entertainment the weekly themed event is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated on the sunshine city’s social calendar. 

This week’s theme is dubbed ‘Tights & Heels’ edition and gets on the way Friday at 6:00pm until 2:00am.
