Bounty Killer Says Aidonia Is As Good As Vybz Kartel [WATCH VIDEO]

Just a few weeks after Aidonia made claims he was on the same level as incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel, the 'Warlord', Bounty Killer has come out in support of the JOP boss.

In a television interview on Saturday, the dancehall veteran said that Aidonia was right to compare himself to Vybz Kartel as both deejays are on the same level musically. "He's up to the par lyrical with Kartel, there's no denying," said Killer. "Aidonia and Kartel are on that level vocabulary-wise and lyrically."

He said Aidonia is a better performer than Kartel and that, of the two, Aidonia has the better vocal ability. "Aidonia can deejay better than Kartel," he said. "The two a dem can write a similar way but Aidonia is a better deliverer, a man who can deejay better than Kartel, and you can hear it. He has better vocals and he can do better things with his voice. Him never use auto-tune yet because him have that natural, rich vocal."

The deejay, who has been given credit for launching both Kartel and Aidonia's careers, believes while both artistes are on the same level lyrically, Kartel is more creative and influential. "It is more than just lyrical influence we are describing Kartel influence with," said Killer. "He (Kartel) is not just lyrical because it takes more to influence than just music because, when music stop play, you need to get in people head same way. After Ninja Man and Bounty Killer, I think Kartel is the most influential dancehall artiste. We're not just talking about hit songs, but people following your way of life and your way of thinking."

He said if people observed the Jamaican society they would see Kartel's influence reflected in people's actions and how they live their lives, and that's what makes Kartel bigger than Aidoinia. He also said that aside from himself, Kartel is the only other artiste in dancehall that has launched the careers of several other entertainers who still have a burgeoning career today.

Although Killer's interview seemed to be pointing out the strengths and weaknesses in both artistes, Gaza fans came at the Killer on social media for making the comparison. Gaza fans were in attack mode as they called out the Killer for his statements saying that there is no artiste to compare to Kartel.

The comments led to a hot social media discussion over the weekend and a conversation ensued between the 'Grung Gad' and the users of social media. Aidonia and Vybz Kartel exited the Bounty Killer-led Alliance in 2007.
