NESBETH Inspires Political Leaders & Finds Success In Britain

There are a couple signs that suggest that a song is a runaway hit....The frequency of plays on major radio stations, the children know the words, whenever the artiste performs the song live it's hard to get through the first verse without pulling up the track multiple times, fans from across the world post social media videos using the song as the soundtrack, all classes of society are in tune,  and last but not least the track becomes theme music of major political rallies.  All of the aforementioned are true of Nesbeth's now mammoth hit,  simply titled My Dream that has just been added to the BBC's Radio 1Xtra and listed as the number 1 New Reggae song to enjoy by the UK's Capitol Xtra.

Last Sunday two major political rallies were held in Kingston and St Catherine.  In Spanish Town the Jamaica Labour Party held an area council meeting and in Half Way Tree square, a massive crowd of PNP supporters converged on the capital to hear their leaders speak, and to hear the much anticipated date of Jamaica's 17th General Parliamentary Elections.  A hallmark of political rallies in Jamaica is the use of music by the Political parties to energize the crowd and help messages resonate with supporters.

It is then not a surprise that a certified hit with the title "My Dream", a song that evokes memories of Martin Luther King's famous 1963 Washington DC speech, was used on Sunday evening by Political dreamers like The Portia Simpson Miller led PNP and Andrew Holness's JLP.  On both occasions the rallies turned into a sea of vuvuzela forwards and salutes for what is destined to become a Nesbeth and Reggae Classic.

After all was said and done the Election date was called...Thursday February 25 2016 and two major DREAMS are insight.  For the governing People's National Party, that they will secure another term as government while Andrew Holness dreams of proving himself worthy of Party Leader by taking his party to victory after his loss in 2011.

Segueing from the political rhetoric, Nesbeth's best Dreams are currently becoming a reality, the artiste is currently number 1 on Richie B's Top Reggae Singles Chart for the third consecutive week, Number 1 on  Zip FM's Reggae Chart and Hype TV's VTX Countdown while threatening the top spot on Television Jamaica’s Entertainment Report Top 10.  The reggae crooner has been nominated for ‘Song Of The Year’ by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JARIA).
