Reggae Artiste Son On Trial For 'Sexually Assaulting' His Brother

The son of a prominent reggae artiste is currently being tried in the Home Circuit Court on allegations that he sexually assaulted his brother who was five years old at the time.

The trial started last week before Georgiana Fraser and a panel of seven jurors.

The name of the accused and that of their father is being withheld in an effort to protect the identity of the child.

It's understood that the accused man on Monday gave an unsworn statement from the dock in which he denied assaulting his stepbrother.

The accused had originally been charged with buggery but that charge was dropped and replaced with the charges of grievous sexual assault and indecent assault.

The victim, who is now 7 years old, testified in court on Monday.

The child,  testified via video link that his brother forced him to perform oral sex on him and attempted to penetrate him.

The artiste was in court for a part of the trial last week.

On Monday, Justice Fraser started summing up the evidence for jurors. She’s expected to complete that process on Tuesday after which the jurors will deliberate the accused man’s fate.
