Flooding in the parish earlier in the day did not stop patrons from turning out in their numbers to support dancehall artiste Tifa at her annual birthday party in Runaway Bay, St Ann, last Sunday.
Held at the Jewel Lagoon Water Park, the event drew scores of partygoers from near and far as several patrons travelled from Kingston to attend the highly anticipated bash.
Aqua meets Bubbles, as it was dubbed, promised a great party vibe and that it delivered. Aside from women clad in their best swimwear, some attracting more attention than others, the all-inclusive event had patrons buzzing about all evening.
The entertainment was top-notch as ZJ Chrome and Kurt Riley took over the consoles. Spewing out hit after hit, the seasoned selectors had the ladies dancing up a storm as they transformed the grounds of the water park into a very busy dance floor.
Birthday girl Tifa was a sight for sore eyes, no doubt standing out and making a statement in her custom-made knitted swimsuit, courtesy of local fashion designer, Minka.
Feeling like a princess with a gold tiara atop her head, the Spell It Out deejay graced the party with her presence, obeying calls for her to take centre stage for the cutting of the cake. Though the cutting of the cake is a custom at birthday parties, it came as a surprise for the entertainer on the night as she was not expecting, it largely because there was no cake-cutting at last year's event.
Her friends, however, could not make that happen this year and decided to surprise the lady of the moment with the sweet gesture. The moment was made extra special as Tifa had not one but two men cut the cake with her. Tanto Blacks and Chi Ching Ching were more than happy to share in the moment with their colleague.
