Aidonia Surpasses Alkaline & Mavado... Artiste The Most In-Demand for 2017

While the greater portion of 2016 was dominated by Alkaline, Popcaan, Mavado and Vybz Kartel that has done very little to slow down or shift the attention from 4th Genna Boss Aidonia who has emerged as the front-runner and most in-demand artiste coming out of 2016 into 2017.

This increase in demand is as a result of a very unorthodox yet aggressive promotional campaign by the "Banga" deejay leading into the festive season. In the last six weeks of the year the deejay has released over five new singles namely: Banga, IG Girls, Fat.40, We Get Gyal featuring Ding Dong and Trigger Work It, all of which have been making a major impact on the airwaves and local party circuit. This was further bolstered by a cadre of shows across the Caribbean annexed by his just concluded U.S Tour. Prior to these developments Aidonia was and continue to enjoy heavy rotation with song such as Hey Yo, Dat A Di Ting and No Man To Mi Spliff.

Alkaline, Vybz Kartel, Mavado and Popcaan are all strong contenders with their various offerings and cannot be overlooked.  However, aside from premium rotation on the various FM stations across the diaspora, a trip to any popular street dance or upscale gathering will provide evidence that songs such as Trigger Work It and Banga easily garner the biggest forwards from audiences in those spaces.
