Less than two weeks away from the start of the Yuletide season, fashionista and burgeoning chanteuse Tosh Alexander has assembled a star-studded cast of musical heavyweights for the presentation of her latest body of work titled, 'An Island Christmas With Tosh & Friends'.
Presented on the 'CoworkJA' musical imprint with distribution rights courtesy of Zojak Worldwide. The project takes the format of a five-track EP covering several of the most renowned Christmas classics as the songstress serves up some prodigious renditions with the help of accomplished compatriots Christopher Martin and Romain Virgo. The standard is even further amplified with the enlisting of production virtuosos Joshua 'Flubz' Jones, Andre 'Suku' Grey, Karim 'Stainless' Thompson, Dale 'Dizzle' Virgo, Keniel Delisser and Kemoy Allen. Aiming for the best quality the recordings were done at Bugle's An9ted Studios and Agent Sasco's Diamond Studios respectively.
Alluding to the project Tosh said, "Christmas is definitely my favourite time of the year. From the lights to the carols and the overall spirit of the season; it's a time where everyone comes together and it truly makes me happy, so I wanted to reflect that in these Christmas carols chosen for the EP. When you hear them I want you to have that same feeling of happiness and warmth."
Similar sentiments were echoed by renowned industry heavyweight Robert Livingston, "Love the idea behind this Christmas album. Christmas is for family, it's about hearing your favourite carols and this is a great approach. Tosh has an amazing voice and I think she's a good ambassador for the music and can represent the songs well" - he added.
Slated for release on December 8, the EP will be available worldwide on all major digital platforms but can be pre-ordered commencing November 24, (consumers will get a bonus track). Upon official release, physical copies will be made available via the various local music outlets.
No stranger to the music scene Tosh who relocated to Jamaica last year is currently riding high with the single '911' featuring Reggae royalty Kymani Marley. During her sojourn in the U.S, she also worked with a plethora of international stars such as Pharell Williams, Busta Rhymes, Nicki Minaj, FloRida, Fabulous and The Game.
