Accomplished dancehall star, Mavado has once again improved his international stock with the release of his brand new video featuring prominent hip-hop producer, DJ Khaled while also making a cameo alongside the well-renowned disc jock on BET.
Mavado appeared with Khaled, fellow We The Best Music Group teammate Ace Hood and Maybach Music recording artiste, French Montana on Monday’s episode of BET’s 106 & Park. They all visited the popular countdown show to talk about DJ Khaled’s new album, Kiss The Ring, which debuts in stores today.
Additionally, Mavado premiered his new medley video on Monday featuring a pair of singles that appear Kiss The Ring: Suicidal Thoughts and Aktion Pak. This video hails as the second that Mavado has unveiled whilst a member of We The Best Music Group, premiering eight months after unleashing the visuals for his first single with the label, Emergency (featuring Ace Hood).
Furthermore, this marks the first time that Mavado has appeared on 106 & Park. In January 2009, Mavado was expected to appear on the countdown program to unveil the visuals for his classic track, So Special in 2009. However, So Special never aired on the popular African-American entertainment outlet as controversy regarding the video’s content prevented it from being shown.
Mavado spoke to his working relationship with DJ Khaled as well as his thoughts on Kiss The Ring during his 106 & Park appearance.
“I got so many favorite songs on that album you know. The whole album is just my favorite. Working with DJ Khaled, DJ Khaled understand Kingston, Jamaica, where I’m from,” he said.
Mavado has reportedly been working hard in the studio on his debut album with We The Best Music Group. The internationally-acclaimed singjay joined We The Best nearly a year ago.
